Can the existing frame be kept?

Measure the rough opening, not the old door

The old door may itself have been the wrong size, cut down, or hung in a frame that was shimmed to fit. Measuring the rough opening and the wall condition is the only reliable basis for ordering.

Confirm handing early

Handing determines which side the hinges go and where hardware is prepped. It is decided at order stage and cannot be changed once the door is machined, so it gets confirmed on site rather than assumed from a drawing.

Think about the season
